As part of environmental protection, TTD has taken another decision to implement a complete plastic ban in the holy shrine of Tirumala. TTD is making another effort to reduce the use of plastic in Tirumala. Srivari Laddu Prasad is being offered to the devotees in palm baskets from now on. Efforts are being made to make palm baskets available experimentally to curb air pollution in Tirumala .

It is expected that if the use of palm baskets is implemented... on the one hand, the use of plastic will be reduced... not only will the environment be protected... but on the other hand, handicrafts will be encouraged. To this extent, the natural agronomist Vijayaram handed over the baskets made of palm leaves in different sizes to TTD Evo Dharma Reddy. Dharma Reddy said that these tataku baskets will soon be brought into use at the laddu counters. At this time, TTD will study the possibilities of using palm baskets as well as how useful palm baskets are for devotees who carry laddu prasads.

Already in Tirumala Kshetra, plastic water bottles and puja materials in plastic covers are not allowed inside the temples. Moreover, the sale of plastic covers and plastic water bottles has already been banned in the shops attached to the temple. It is known that glass bottles are being used instead of plastic water bottles.

పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణలో భాగంగా పవిత్ర పుణ్యక్షేత్రం తిరుమలలో సంపూర్ణ ప్లాస్టిక్ నిషేధం అమలు చేసే విధంగా మరో నిర్ణయంతీసుకుంది టీటీడీ.  తిరుమలలో ప్లాస్టిక్ వినియోగాన్ని తగ్గించేలా టీటీడీ మరో ప్రయత్నం చేస్తోంది. శ్రీవారి లడ్డు ప్రసాదాన్ని ఇక నుంచి తాటాకు బుట్టల్లో భక్తులకు అందించే ఆలోచనలో ఉంది. తిరుమలలో వాతావరణ కాలుష్యాన్ని కట్టడి చేసేలా తాటాకు బుట్టలను ప్రయోగత్మకంగా అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తోంది.

తాటాకు బుట్టల వినియోగాన్ని అమల్లోకి తెస్తే.. ఓ వైపు ప్లాస్టిక్ వినియోగం తగ్గి.. పర్యవర్ణా పరిరక్షణ జరగడమే కాదు.. మరోవైపు హస్తకళలను ప్రోత్సహించినట్లు ఉంటుందని భావిస్తోంది. ఈ మేరకు ప్రకృతి వ్యవసాయవేత్త విజయరామ్ తాటాకులతో వివిధ సైజ్ ల్లో తయారు చేసిన బుట్టలను టీటీడీ ఈవో ధర్మారెడ్డికి అందజేశారు. ఈ తాటాకు బుట్టలను త్వరలోనే లడ్డు కౌంటర్లల్లో వాడకంలోకి తీసుకురానున్నామని చెప్పారు ధర్మారెడ్డి. ఈ సమయంలో తాటాకు బుట్టల వినియోగం సాధ్యాలతోపాటు లడ్డు ప్రసాదాలను తీసుకెళ్లే భక్తులకు తాటాకు బుట్టలు ఎంతమేర ఉపయోగకరంగా ఉంటాయన్న దానిపై టీటీడీ అధ్యయనం చేయనుంది.

ఇప్పటికే తిరుమల క్షేత్రంలో ప్లాస్టిక్‌ వాటర్‌ బాటిళ్లతో పాటు ప్లాస్టిక్‌ కవర్లలో పూజా సామగ్రిని ఆలయాల్లోకి అనుమతించడం లేదు. అంతేకాదు ఆలయానికి అనుబంధంగా ఉండే షాపుల్లో ప్లాస్టిక్‌ కవర్లు, ప్లాస్టిక్‌ వాటర్‌ బాటిళ్ల అమ్మకాలను ఇప్పటికే నిషేధించడమే కాదు.. ఆలయాల్లో ప్రసాదాల పంపిణీలోనూ చిన్నచిన్న ప్లాస్టిక్‌ వినియోగాన్ని బ్యాన్ చేశారు.  ప్లాస్టిక్ వాటర్ బాటిల్స్ బదులు గాజు సీసాలను వినియోగిస్తున్న సంగతి తెలిసిందే.
