HYDERABAD: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao questioned the timing of the sinking of the Medigadda barrage piers and suggested it might be a conspiracy orchestrated by the Congress.
“Why did this issue arise right before the Assembly elections when the barrage was holding a substantial amount of water?” Rama Rao asked. “If the barrage encounters further problems, it should be seen as a result of this government’s conspiracy,” he added.
During an informal interaction with reporters, Rama Rao criticized the NDSA report, referring to it as an NDA report. He expressed dissatisfaction with the current water lifting from the Yellampalli project, stating that lifting only 2 tmcft was insufficient. “Ego is preventing the government from utilizing water from the Kannepalli pumphouse,” he said.
Rama Rao also alleged that the Congress and BJP shared similar views on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. He criticized Congress leader N Uttam Kumar Reddy for claiming that the government would follow the NDSA report, implying that the government would align with BJP directives.
Responding to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s comments on the Metro Rail Project in the Old City, Rama Rao claimed that the project stalled under BRS rule due to AIMIM’s demands for alignment changes.
He criticized the Chief Minister for behaving like an opposition leader and for his remarks about L&T in the Assembly, suggesting such statements could deter investors. “If the Chief Minister speaks this way, how can the state attract investments?” Rama Rao questioned.
He also accused the Chief Minister of seeing scams everywhere and dismissed the comparison of state issues to cancer and AIDS as foolish. “Where is the scam in distributing crores of Bathukamma sarees? Is there anything more absurd than comparing the state to these diseases?” he said.
