NIZAMABAD: BJP Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy revealed on Tuesday that the party’s national leadership advised him to credit his election victory to the party workers rather than to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity. He emphasized that the BJP focuses on collective strength over individual charisma.
Reddy made these remarks while launching the BJP membership drive in Nizamabad, alongside the party’s district unit president Dinesh Kulachari and MLAs Paidi Rakesh Reddy and Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta.
Following his election victory, Reddy traveled to Delhi to meet with BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP Organisational General Secretary BL Santhosh.
“The party has set a goal of enrolling two lakh new members from Nizamabad alone. Currently, we have signed up 9,000 members, and I am confident we will reach our target by September 17, the last day of the drive,” Reddy stated.
He noted that this membership drive is crucial for the BJP’s performance in the upcoming local body elections. Additionally, Reddy stressed the importance of party members embracing the BJP’s nationalist philosophy, suggesting that those who cannot contribute to election victories or support party candidates should consider joining other organizations.
