Recently, the price of a kilo of tomato reached a record level in Madanapalle market of Annamaiya district of Andhra Pradesh. 124 rupees per kilo of tomato which has never been seen in the past.
In the same market, which is carafe for tomato crop, there are situations where in the past 25 paise was quoted. In a place like this.. Now the farmers are happy with the record rate of 124 rupees. Farmers say that till now the highest price of a kilo of tomato is 104 rupees. However.. Madanapalli market has now crossed that record and created a new all-time record. Actually.. 1500 tonnes of tomato is usually received in Madanapally market.
But... currently only 750 tons are coming, so the traders are competing to buy that tomato. As a result.. the price of tomato has suddenly increased. A grade of tomato yields between 106 to 124 kg. B grade tomatoes yield between 86 to 105. Madanapally market farmers say that in total.. on average 100 to 110. Traders export tomatoes from here to northern states. As a result, the supply or export demand has increased. The price of tomato is increasing day by day due to various reasons such as rainy conditions, heavy rains followed by crop yield. Apart from that, hot winds and heavy rains are causing difficulties in tomato supply in different areas. Tomato farmers say that these conditions are the reason for the price increase.

టమాట పంటకు కేరాఫ్‌గా ఉండే ఇదే మార్కెట్‌లో గతంలో కిలో 25 పైసలు పలికిన పరిస్థితులు కూడా ఉన్నాయి. ఇలాంటి చోట.. ఇప్పుడు ఏకంగా 124 రూపాయల రికార్డ్ స్థాయి రేటు రావడంతో రైతుల్లో ఆనందం వ్యక్తమవుతోంది. ఇక.. ఇప్పటివరకూ అత్యధికంగా కిలో టమోటా ధర 104 రూపాయలు పలికినట్లు రైతులు చెప్తున్నారు. అయితే.. ఇప్పుడు ఏకంగా ఆ రికార్డ్‌ను క్రాస్ చేయడంతోపాటు సరికొత్త ఆల్‌టైమ్‌ రికార్డ్ సృష్టించింది మదనపల్లి మార్కెట్. వాస్తవానికి.. మదనపల్లి మార్కెట్‌కు సాధారణంగా 1500 టన్నుల టమాట వస్తుంది.
కానీ.. ప్రస్తుతం 750 టన్నులు మాత్రమే రావడంతో వ్యాపారులు ఆ టమాటాను కొనుగోలు చేసేందుకు పోటీ పడ్డారు. ఫలితంగా.. టమాట ధర ఒక్కసారిగా అమాంతం పెరిగింది. ఏ గ్రేడ్ టమాటా కిలో 106 నుండి 124 మధ్య పలికింది. బీ గ్రేడ్ టమాటా 86 నుండి 105 మధ్య పలికింది. మొత్తంగా.. సగటున 100 నుండి 110 పలికినట్లు చెబుతున్నారు మదనపల్లి మార్కెట్ రైతులు. ఇక ఇక్కడినుండి ఉత్తరాది రాష్ట్రాలకు టమాటాను ఎగుమతి చేస్తుంటారు వ్యాపారులు. దాంతో.. అవసరానికి తగ్గ సరఫరా లేక ఎగుమతి డిమాండ్‌ పెరిగినట్లు అయింది. వర్షాభావ పరిస్థితులు, ఆ తర్వాత భారీ వర్షాలు, పంట దిగుబడి తగ్గడం వంటి వివిధ కారణాలతో టమాటా ధర రోజురోజుకు పెరుగుతోంది. దాంతోపాటు.. వివిధ ప్రాంతాల్లో వేడి గాలులు, భారీ వర్షాలు టమాటా సరఫరాకు ఇబ్బందులు కలిగిస్తున్నాయి. ధర పెరగడానికి ఈ పరిస్థితులే కారణమంటున్నారు టమాటా రైతులు.
