Incentive Offered for Details on Cab Driver Involved in UK Incident with Indian-origin Mother

UK-Based Charity Offers £5,000 Reward for Information on Cab Driver Involved in Accident with Indian-Origin Mother in London

On February 3, a 37-year-old Indian-origin mother named Rajdeep Kaur, accompanied by her 13-month-old daughter in a pram, was hit by a BMW while crossing North Hyde Lane in Hounslow, West London. The collision, in which the BMW recklessly overtook traffic in the wrong direction, resulted in life-threatening injuries to Mrs. Kaur, narrowly missing the pram.

An independent UK charity, Crimestoppers, is now offering a reward of £5,000 for any information that leads to the identification and conviction of the hit-and-run driver responsible for the incident in Hounslow, as announced in a Metropolitan Police release on Tuesday.

Alexa Loukas, London Regional Manager at Crimestoppers, expressed sympathies for Mrs. Kaur, acknowledging the life-altering injuries she sustained in the accident. The BMW failed to stop at the scene, causing Mrs. Kaur to be thrown several feet into the air with life-threatening injuries.

The pram, left in the road, posed a risk of being struck by other vehicles; however, fortunately, the baby in the pram was unharmed, as confirmed by the police.

The driver of the silver BMW is believed to be a local resident of the Hounslow area, according to the police. Witnesses at the scene managed to record the car's number plates, which were later discovered to be cloned. The car in question was identified as a BMW X5.

Loukas encouraged anyone with information about the tragedy to come forward and share details with their charity, emphasizing their independence from the police and assurance of anonymity for informants. She stressed that providing information could aid in seeking justice for Mrs. Kaur and her family, contributing to enhanced safety on the streets for everyone.

Following the accident, emergency services were summoned, and Mrs. Kaur was transported to the hospital with severe leg and pelvis injuries. Although she survived, her mobility is significantly limited, rendering her incapable of independently caring for her daughter. She can now only walk a few steps with the assistance of a walking frame, and a complete recovery from her injuries is unlikely.

Detective Constable Davina Nash, leading the investigation, described the case as distressing. She urged individuals with information about the driver or any relevant details that could ensure justice for the victim to reach out to Crimestoppers, assuring complete anonymity. Crimestoppers can be contacted via phone or their website, available 24/7, 365 days a year."
