Andhra CM Invites OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to Amaravati to Discuss AI Future
Amaravati, April 3: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has invited OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to visit Amaravati and discuss the state’s plans for the future of artificial intelligence (AI).
Naidu’s invitation comes after Altman praised India for its rapid adoption of AI and its growing creativity in the field. On social media, Altman mentioned how India is leading the world in AI technology. His comments followed the global popularity of OpenAI’s new image generation tool, which can create animations in the style of Studio Ghibli.
In response to Altman’s praise, CM Naidu said, "India is just beginning its journey, and Andhra Pradesh is ready to become a key hub for AI-driven advancements. I would be happy to welcome you to Amaravati and share our vision for the future of AI."
Naidu also noted that the state is focused not only on AI but also on becoming a leader in quantum technology.
Altman’s growing involvement in India is being closely watched, especially as OpenAI’s tools continue to experience a surge in demand. Recently, he shared an AI-generated image of himself as a cricket player, showing off the creative potential of AI.
However, Altman also acknowledged that the increase in AI use has led to challenges with OpenAI’s capacity, causing delays in some feature updates. He mentioned that users may experience slow service as the company works to meet the rising demand for its services.
