In Konaseema, which is known for its peaceful surroundings, the use of ganja and smuggling is also increasing, so the district administration has decided to seek the cooperation of the public. The district administration has announced a cash reward for those who provide information about the smuggling or use of ganja. Rs.50 thousand to those who give information about ganja smugglers, Rs. District Collector Himanshu Shukla and Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Reddy said on Thursday that a reward of 10 thousand will be given.
The collector said that many youths, students and daily laborers are addicted to ganja and due to its influence, they indulge in anti-social activities. He expressed concern that the situation may turn dangerous if action is not taken as soon as possible. The details of those who gave information about cannabis will be kept confidential.
The SP said that the RTC officials have been informed about the smuggling of ganja through buses and have been asked to increase vigilance and this menace can be controlled only with the participation of the people.
