MATS...is a transport route in Hyderabad where up to 2 lakh people travel daily. The role of MMTS is crucial in reducing the traffic woes in the city .
Although there have always been demands to expand their services, the work is not progressing. But recently the Center has made important comments. They accused the Telangana government of not cooperating even though they are ready for the expansion works. The state government said it is not releasing its share of duties. This year for MMTS Rs. 600 crores have been allocated. Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Center is ready to complete the work quickly if the government cooperates.
MMTS Phase-II project started in 2012-13. Although it has been eight years since the work of this project started, it has not been completed as the state government has not given its share of funds.
According to the agreement, the state government has to pay one-third share. But the Center is accusing it of not doing it. Ashwini Vaishnav also responded on the Kazipet coach factory. He said that there are already many coach factories in the country.
He said that the work of Wagon Periodical Overhauling Shed assigned to Kazipet will be started soon. Tenders will be called and the construction will start immediately.
