Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Yoga along with thousands of participants at a mass demonstration in the backdrop of the iconic Mysuru Palace on June 21 and said the physical fitness regime was forming a basis for cooperation among countries, and that it can become a problem-solver.
Greeting people on the occasion of International Yoga Day, President Ram Nath Kovind said, “Yoga is India’s gift to humantiy and it is a holistic approach to health and well-being, balancing mind, body and soul.” The president took part in Yoga Day demonstration at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He also asked everyone to make Yoga a part of their daily life & experience its benefits.
The theme of this year’s Yoga Day celebrations is ‘Yoga for Humanity’ and around 25 crore people across the world are expected to take part in various events, doing yoga in unison towards better health and wellness for all. A flagship programme in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs has also been organised for a mass Yoga Protocol world over on the day following the movement of the sun.
