Hyderabad, November 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a rally in Hyderabad, alleged that the web of corruption associated with BRS is intertwined with the Delhi liquor scandal and assured that action would be taken against corruption.
During his address, he indirectly alluded to allegations against Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter, K. Kavitha, in the Delhi excise policy case. He stated, "When investigating agencies began to delve into their corrupt practices, these individuals began to malign the investigative agencies. Today, I want to make it clear to these individuals that action will indeed be taken against corruption. Those who have wrongfully taken from the people will have to repay. This is my commitment as Modi."
Modi also noted that arrogance does not endure. "The same arrogance can be seen in BRS leaders. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the people of Telangana gave a resounding response to the arrogant chief minister with their votes. Rattled by this, the leaders here began to vilify Modi," he remarked.
The Prime Minister likened the Congress and BRS to two sides of the same coin. "BRS is following the same model of dynastic rule and corruption that the Congress has cultivated over seven decades. Both parties aim to plunder public resources. They both promote their own children and do not prioritize your children," Modi commented.
He mentioned that BRS came to power with grand promises but failed to fulfill any of them. He accused the Telangana government of the most significant betrayal to the youth, citing the paper leak that left aspirants for TSPSC exams in limbo after nine years of preparation. Modi claimed that the failures of BRS had destroyed the prospects of an entire generation.
Modi asserted that the youth were demanding answers about the promise of jobs, the state government's failure to implement unemployment benefits, and the thousands of vacant teaching positions. He also criticized BRS for not delivering on the pledge of double-bedroom houses for the poor, contrasting this with his government's construction of four crore houses for the underprivileged under PM Awas Yojana, including 2.50 lakh houses in Telangana.
Urging the public to compare BRS's track record with the BJP's accomplishments in serving them, Modi stressed the need for a dual-engine government. He also announced the extension of the free foodgrains scheme for five more years and asked the audience to show their support for this decision by turning on the flashlights on their mobile phones."
