Nimmala Ramanaidu: Minister Nimmala Announces Completion of Polavaram Project by End of 2027

Polavaram Dam 202-Meter-Long Wall Completed: Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu
Minister for Water Resources, Dr. Nimmala Ramanaidu, shared updates about the Polavaram Project during his visit to East Godavari district. He announced that 202 meters of the diaphragm wall have been completed. During a press conference in Rajahmundry, he explained that despite the damage caused during the previous administration, the project is now progressing rapidly under the current government’s leadership.

Start of New Construction Works
The construction work for the project started on January 18, with a budget of Rs. 990 crore. The two barrages and two grabbers are being installed to speed up the diaphragm wall construction. The minister confirmed that the third grabber will be operational by April 30. They are also focused on continuing work even during the monsoon season, and the Batrus Dam project is expected to be completed by May.

Polavaram Project to Be Completed by 2027
Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu assured that the diaphragm wall work will be completed by the end of December, and construction for the ECFR Dam at Gap-1 will begin in April. The work at Gap-2 is set to begin by November 30, with the goal of completing the entire Polavaram Project by December 2027. He mentioned that in a meeting with Chandrababu, it was suggested that the project should be completed by the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu at the latest.
