Recently Union Minister Kishan Reddy announced that MMTS train will be extended till Yadadri with 100% central government funds. Currently, a 21 km railway line is being constructed from Secunderabad to Ghatkesar under the second phase of MMTS. But another 33 km from Ghatkesar to Yadadri (Rayagiri). The state government has decided to extend the second phase. Officials have estimated that it will cost 330 crore rupees.
The extension was stalled due to differences of opinion between the central and state governments regarding the provision of funds. In view of the increased prices, the cost of the project has now reached Rs.430 crores. The central government has announced that the second phase of the MMTS line extension is being carried out under the auspices of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) with 100% funding from the Railway Department.

100% కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ నిధులతో MMTS రైలును యాదాద్రి వరకు పొడిగిస్తున్నట్లు ఇటీవల కేంద్ర మంత్రి కిషన్ రెడ్డి ప్రకటించారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఎంఎంటీఎస్‌ రెండో దశ కింద సికింద్రాబాద్‌ నుంచి ఘట్‌కేసర్‌ వరకు 21 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర రైల్వే లైన్‌ నిర్మిస్తున్నారు. కానీ ఘట్‌కేసర్‌ నుంచి యాదాద్రి (రాయగిరి) వరకు మరో 33 కి.మీ. రెండో దశను పొడిగించాలని రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించింది. 330 కోట్లు ఖర్చవుతుందని అధికారులు అంచనా వేశారు.
నిధుల మంజూరు విషయంలో కేంద్ర, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాల మధ్య విభేదాల కారణంగా పొడిగింపు నిలిచిపోయింది. పెరిగిన ధరల దృష్ట్యా ప్రస్తుతం ప్రాజెక్టు వ్యయం రూ.430 కోట్లకు చేరింది. రైల్వే శాఖ 100% నిధులతో రైల్‌ వికాస్‌ నిగమ్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌ (ఆర్‌విఎన్‌ఎల్‌) ఆధ్వర్యంలో రెండో దశ ఎంఎంటీఎస్‌ లైన్‌ పొడిగింపును చేపడుతున్నట్లు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటించింది.
