HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the bypoll to fill the vacant Rajya Sabha seat in Telangana. Polling will take place on September 3, from 9 am to 4 pm. This bypoll was triggered by the resignation of former BRS MP K. Keshava Rao, who recently joined the Congress.
Key dates for the bypoll are as follows:
- August 14: Issuance of the election notification.
- August 21: Last date for filing nominations.
- August 22: Scrutiny of nominations.
- August 27: Last date for withdrawal of candidature.
- September 3: Polling and counting of votes.
- September 6: Deadline for completing the election process.
Keshava Rao resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat on July 4.
