Chetti Sakalamma, the sister of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and former Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), passed away last night at the age of 82. She had been receiving medical treatment in a hospital in Hyderabad for health complications. Unfortunately, her condition worsened, leading to her demise.
Sakalamma, who was KCR's fifth sister, hailed from Pedir, a village in Ellareddypet Mandal, Sircilla district. She is survived by three sons. Her husband, Hanumanth Rao, passed away several years ago.
Upon hearing of her passing, prominent BRS leaders, including K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), Harish Rao, and Kavitha, visited the hospital to offer their respects.
Sakalamma’s funeral is scheduled for today, and in light of her passing, a meeting planned for today with party MLAs, MLCs, corporators, and other senior leaders has been postponed.
