Six MLCs delivered a surprise blow to BRS

BRS party in Telangana is currently grappling with a severe crisis following its humiliating defeat in the recent Parliament elections, where it failed to secure any seats for the first time in its history. Compounding its troubles, the party is now relegated to opposition status within the state.
In a significant and unexpected development, six MLCs from BRS have defected to the Congress party. This move took place in a late-night development at the residence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad, adding to the shock within the BRS ranks.
The defection includes MLCs Dande Vittal, Bhanu Prasad, B. Dayanand, Prabhakar Rao, Egge Mallesham, and Basavaraju Saraiah, dealing a heavy blow to BRS's political strength.
With these additions, the Congress party's count in the Legislative Council now stands at 12 seats. The defections have raised questions about how KCR, the Chief Minister, will respond to this political maneuvering and attempt to counter these losses.
