Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Predicts BRS BJP Merger Foresees Key Roles for KCRs Family

Hyderabad: Despite repeated denials from the BRS, Congress leaders persist in their predictions that the BRS will eventually merge with the BJP.
On Friday, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his prediction that such a merger is imminent. Speaking informally with reporters in New Delhi, Revanth suggested that key positions would be allocated to K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family following the merger. He stated that Rao could become a Governor, KTR might be appointed as a Union Minister, Harish Rao could become the Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, and Kavitha might secure a Rajya Sabha seat.
Addressing questions about the farm loan waiver, Revanth announced that his government has allocated Rs 5,000 crore specifically for this scheme. He clarified that each family unit will have only one loan waived. If any eligible farmer has not received the waiver, they can approach their district collectors.
In response to BRS claims about the discontinuation of schemes, Revanth asserted that no schemes have been discontinued under his administration. He criticized the previous practice of fund allocation favoring only contractors during Chandrasekhar Rao's tenure, emphasizing his own administration’s different priorities.
Revanth also welcomed the decision to nominate Abhishek Manu Singhvi as the Congress candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha bypoll in Telangana, dismissing criticisms about “Delhi appointments” from the Opposition.
Addressing concerns about his family’s involvement in governance, Revanth denied any undue influence or protocol benefits for his relatives. He also defended his younger brother’s personal foreign trips, stating they were self-funded.
Lastly, Revanth expressed disappointment with the Union Budget for 2024-25, criticizing it for lacking provisions for Telangana.
