Like Arunachala Kshetra, they started circumambulating the Indrakiladri every full moon. Indrakiladri Giri Pradakshina, a spiritual program to celebrate the full moon of Ashada month of Sobhakrit Nama year at Vijayawada Indrakiladri Kanakadurgamma Temple. Today at half past five in the morning, the Giri Pradakshina program took place amidst the utmost devotion. Giri Pradakshina was conducted under the auspices of Durga Malleswaraswamy Devasthanam from near Kamadhenu Ammavari Temple at the beginning of Indrakiladri Ghat Road.

 A large number of devotees participated in this program and received the blessings of Goddess. A large number of devotees reached Indrakiladri to visit Kanakadurgamma on the occasion of full moon today. As the devotees flocked in large numbers, the temple premises were crowded with devotees.
Durga Gudi Governing Council Chairman Karnati Rambabu, Evo Bhramaramba, temple priests and members of the Trust Board participated in this program and performed ritualistic pujas to Goddess Durga.

A large number of devotees participated in this Giri Pradakshina program from Kummaripalem intersection, Sitara, Kabela, Milk Factory, Chitti Nagar, Kothapeta, Brahmana Meedi to Ghat Road. While Durga Malleswara Swamy's campaign chariot was moving in front amidst drumming and kolats.. Durga Malleswara Swamy's ceremonial idols were kept in the vehicle behind.. They performed around 7 kilometers around Indrakiladri. For the convenience of the devotees while circumambulating Giri, the authorities have arranged a bus on the route.

A large number of women devotees participated in this program. They offered flowers, fruits and coconuts to Durgamma and worshiped them with great devotion. It is believed by the devotees that if they circumambulate the hill on the full moon day, their wishes will be fulfilled.

అరుణాచల క్షేత్రం తరహాలో ప్రతి పౌర్ణమికి ఇంద్రకీలాద్రిపై కూడా గిరి ప్రదక్షిణ చెయ్యడం ప్రారంభించారు. విజయవాడ ఇంద్రకీలాద్రి కనకదుర్గమ్మ ఆలయంలో శోభకృత్‌ నామ సంవత్సరం ఆషాడ మాస పౌర్ణమిని పురస్కరించుకుని ఆధ్యాత్మిక కార్యక్రమం ఇంద్రకీలాద్రి గిరి ప్రదక్షిణ వైభవంగా సాగింది. 

ఈరోజు ఉదయం ఐదున్నర గంటల సమయంలో గిరి ప్రదక్షిణ కార్యక్రమం అత్యంత భక్తి శ్రద్ధల మధ్య సాగింది. ఇంద్రకీలాద్రి ఘాట్‌రోడ్డు ప్రారంభంలోని కామధేను అమ్మవారి ఆలయం దగ్గర నుంచి దుర్గా మల్లేశ్వరస్వామి దేవస్థానం ఆధ్వర్యంలో గిరి ప్రదక్షిణ జరిగింది. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో అశేష సంఖ్యలో భక్తులు పాల్గొని అమ్మవారి ఆశీర్వాదం పొందారు. ఈ రోజు పౌర్ణమి సందర్భంగా కనకదుర్గమ్మను దర్శించుకోవడానికి భారీ సంఖ్యలో భక్తులు ఇంద్రకీలాద్రికి చేరుకున్నారు. భక్తులు భారీ సంఖ్యలో తరలిరావడంతో ఆలయ ప్రాంగణం భక్తులతో  కిటకిటలాడింది.

ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో దుర్గగుడి పాలకమండలి ఛైర్మన్‌ కర్నాటి రాంబాబు, ఈవో భ్రమరాంబ, ఆలయ పూజారులు,  ట్రస్టు బోర్డు సభ్యులు పాల్గొని కనుక దుర్గ అమ్మవారికి శాస్త్రోక్తంగా పూజలు నిర్వహించారు.

కుమ్మరిపాలెం కూడలి, సితార, కబేళా, పాలఫ్యాక్టరీ, చిట్టి నగర్‌, కొత్తపేట, బ్రాహ్మణ మీది నుంచి ఘాట్‌రోడ్డు వరకు జరిగిన ఈ గిరి ప్రదక్షిణ కార్యక్రమంలో భారీ సంఖ్యలో భక్తుల పాల్గొన్నారు. డప్పు వాయిద్యాలు, కోలాటాల మధ్య దుర్గా మల్లేశ్వరస్వామి వారి ప్రచార రథం ముందు సాగుతుండగా.. వెనుక దుర్గామల్లేశ్వరస్వామి ఉత్సవ మూర్తులను వాహనంలో ఉంచి.. ఇంద్రకీలాద్రి చుట్టూ సుమారు 7 కిలోమీటర్లు ప్రదక్షణ చేశారు. గిరి ప్రదక్షిణ చేస్తున్న సమయంలో భక్తుల సౌకర్యార్థం మార్గంలో అధికారులు బస్సుని  ఏర్పాటు చేశారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమం లో భారీ సంఖ్యలోమహిళ భక్తులు పాల్గొన్నారు. దుర్గమ్మకు దారిపొడవునా పూలు, పండ్లు, కొబ్బరికాయలు సమర్పించి అత్యంత భక్తి శ్రద్దలతో పూజలు చేశారు. పౌర్ణమి రోజున అమ్మవారి శిఖరం చుట్టూ గిరి ప్రదక్షిణ చేస్తే కోరికలు తీరుతాయనేది భక్తుల విశ్వాసం
