NTR police successfully located a missing girl in Jammu after a nine-month search effort

The girl, identified as Tejaswini, aged 19, was located with her boyfriend after she sent a message to her sister.
In Vijayawada, a significant development unfolded as the NTR district police successfully traced a 19-year-old girl who had been missing since October last year. Identified as Tejaswini from Bhimavaram town, she was a hotel management student in a private institute at Machavaram, Vijayawada. Tejaswini had befriended Amzad (21), also known as Shannu, her senior in college, through Instagram. Amzad, a resident of Ramavarappadu, had completed his hotel management course and briefly worked in Bengaluru.
The couple, fearing objections from Tejaswini's parents due to religious differences, decided to elope and start a new life together. Tejaswini left her hostel with Amzad in October, prompting her mother, Venkata Kumari, to file a missing complaint with the Machavaram police. Initially, efforts to trace them were unsuccessful due to limited information.
Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan intervened after receiving Venkata Kumari's representation during a public interaction event. He instructed the police to intensify the investigation. A breakthrough occurred when Tejaswini sent a message to her elder sister via Instagram, providing crucial details. Acting swiftly, the police coordinated with Jammu authorities and located the couple in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A team from Machavaram police traveled to Jammu, where Amzad and Tejaswini were taken into custody. They are expected to return to Vijayawada, where necessary actions will be taken based on Kumari's complaint. Police sources revealed that Amzad had a previous incident of elopement and was involved in similar cases in the past.
During their time on the run, Amzad and Tejaswini traveled extensively, moving through Chennai, Kerala, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, and finally settling in Jammu. They spent seven months without mobile phones to avoid detection before Amzad purchased a new phone in April.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan commended the NTR district police for their efforts in resolving the case swiftly. He emphasized the need for awareness among parents regarding potential risks of young individuals exploiting others under the guise of love.
