Demolition Drive Spurs Divergent Reactions from BJP Leaders
The state BJP's stance on the ongoing demolition drive by HYDRAA has sparked confusion, with two party leaders offering conflicting views. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy criticized the Congress government for allegedly creating a ‘high drama’ around HYDRAA, questioning how the civic departments that initially approved the buildings could now label them as illegal. In contrast, MP M Raghunandan Rao commended HYDRAA for demolishing N-Convention, owned by film actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, and expressed skepticism about the high court's interim stay on the demolition.
Senior Congress Leader Faces Political Challenges
A Congress MLC is grappling with political setbacks after a BRS MLA from his constituency joined the Congress party. The MLC is lobbying for his supporters to be appointed to Agriculture Market Committees (AMCs) in the area. However, the MLA is reportedly exerting pressure on a minister and the AICC Telangana in-charge to fill the AMCs with his own allies. The AICC in-charge has conveyed to the MLC that maintaining a good relationship with the newly joined MLA is a priority. Feeling sidelined, the MLC has shared his frustrations with former minister and veteran Congress leader K Jana Reddy, who expressed sympathy for his situation.
Minister Adjusts Routine Due to Public Attention
A well-known fitness enthusiast, a minister in Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s Cabinet, has had to alter his daily routine. Previously accustomed to morning walks at KBR National Park in the upscale Banjara Hills, the minister has been compelled to shift his schedule due to persistent and sometimes unreasonable requests from fellow morning walkers. To avoid disruptions, the minister now retires early, around 8 pm, to ensure he can complete his exercise routine before dawn.
