HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing critique of the BJP on Thursday, accusing the ruling party at the Centre of posing a serious threat to the nation.
At a Congress-organized protest demanding an investigation into the Hindenburg report allegations, Revanth called for the NDA government to establish a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to investigate claims of collusion between SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and the Adani Group.
During the demonstration at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad, Revanth, joined by other Congress leaders, submitted a petition urging a comprehensive investigation into the matter. "When the party calls for action, everyone, regardless of their position, should comply. That’s why I am here today," he said.
Revanth criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for avoiding questions about the Adani Group in Parliament, highlighting that India's national debt has surged from Rs 55,000 crore in 2014 to Rs 1.15 lakh crore under Modi's leadership, alleging that the prime minister has effectively doubled the country’s debt compared to his predecessors.
The Chief Minister accused Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of endorsing a "Hum do.. Hamare do" approach, alleging that they are enabling corruption and facilitating the plundering of the nation’s wealth. He demanded the resignation of the SEBI chairperson and an ED investigation into the alleged scam.
Revanth also took aim at the BRS for its silence on the Hindenburg report. "We don’t care if the BRS merges with the BJP. The crucial question is why KCR isn't challenging the BJP and why KTR isn’t addressing this issue on Twitter?" he said, suggesting that the BRS is covertly supporting the BJP and demanding clarification on its stance regarding the JPC.
In response to BRS threats to remove the Rajiv Gandhi statue in front of the Secretariat, Revanth stated, "No force will be able to remove the statue. Anyone who attempts to will face consequences. Let them announce a date if they dare."
He also announced plans to install a statue of Telangana Talli at the Secretariat on December 9, Sonia Gandhi’s birthday, calling her the "living example of Telangana Talli."
Revanth dismissed BRS protests demanding full implementation of the crop loan waiver scheme as "hollow and false propaganda," reaffirming his government’s commitment to addressing farmers’ issues.
The protest saw participation from former Union Minister Salman Khurshid, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC working presidents Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud and M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, along with other ministers and legislators.
