The government has ordered a 50 percent discount if fine dues are paid. In this regard, a meeting was held on 27-01-23 under the chairmanship of High Court Judge Justice B. Veerappa, who is the Chairman of the Legal Services Authority. On this occasion, the Transport and Road Safety Commissioner appealed to the government to reduce the fine.
Now, the Under Secretary of the Government Transport Department has issued an order reducing the amount of fine imposed by the police department through e-challans across the state by 50 percent. This exemption will be applicable till February 11 only.
Violators across Karnataka have to pay around ₹ 530 crore in delinquency fees to the traffic police department, of which ₹ 500 crore has to come from the state capital Bengaluru, a senior IPS official said.

బెంగళూరులో ట్రాఫిక్‌ను ఉల్లంఘించే వారి సంఖ్య రోజురోజుకూ పెరుగుతోంది. అందుకే ఎక్కడ చూసినా ట్రాఫిక్ పోలీసుల కంటే కెమెరా కళ్లే ఎక్కువ. చిన్న చిన్న ఉల్లంఘనలకు కూడా పోలీసులు జరిమానా విధిస్తున్నారు. ఎంతో మంది రైడర్ల వాహనాలపై వేల రూపాయల జరిమానా చెల్లించాల్సి ఉంది. అలా ట్రాఫిక్ నిబంధనలను ఉల్లంఘించిన రైడర్లకు ఇప్పుడు శుభవార్త వచ్చింది. అదేంటంటే..జరిమానా బకాయిలు చెల్లించినట్లయితే, 50శాతం తగ్గింపును ప్రభుత్వం ఆదేశించింది. దీనికి సంబంధించి 27-01-23న న్యాయసేవా అథారిటీ చైర్మన్‌గా ఉన్న హైకోర్టు న్యాయమూర్తి జస్టిస్‌ బి. వీరప్ప నేతృత్వంలో సమావేశం జరిగింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా జరిమానా తగ్గించాలని రవాణా, రోడ్డు భద్రత కమిషనర్‌ ప్రభుత్వానికి విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.
ఇప్పుడు రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ఈ-చలాన్ల ద్వారా పోలీసు శాఖ విధించిన జరిమానా మొత్తంలో 50శాతం తగ్గింపు ఇస్తూ ప్రభుత్వ రవాణా శాఖ అండర్ సెక్రటరీ ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేశారు. ఫిబ్రవరి 11 వరకు మాత్రమే ఈ మినహాయింపు వర్తించనుంది.. జరిమానా కట్టలేని వారికి 50% మినహాయింపు ఇవ్వడంతో వాహనదారులు హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.
కర్ణాటక అంతటా ఉల్లంఘించినవారు ట్రాఫిక్ పోలీసు విభాగానికి సుమారు ₹ 530 కోట్ల అపరాధ రుసుము చెల్లించాల్సి ఉందని, ఇందులో ₹ 500 కోట్ల రూపాయలు రాష్ట్ర రాజధాని బెంగళూరు నుండి రావాల్సి ఉందని సీనియర్ IPS అధికారి తెలిపారు .
