‘విశాఖ ఉక్కు కోసం ఎందుకు పోరాటం చేయడం లేదు.. పోలవరం పనులు ఎందుకు కావడం లేదని ప్రశ్నించాను. ఇందులో ఏమైనా తప్పుందా.? ప్రజల పక్షాన మాట్లాడాను తప్ప.. ఎపీ గురించి తప్పుగా మాట్లాడలేదు. తెలంగాణ అభివృద్ధిలో చెమట చుక్కలు కార్చిన ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ మా బిడ్డలే అని చెప్పాను. ఏపీ ప్రజలు ఇక్కడ సెటిల్ అయితే చల్లగా ఉండండి, బాగుండాలి అని చెప్పాను. మేము ఏపీ గురించి ఏనాడూ తప్పుగా మాట్లాడలేదు. తెలంగాణలో అన్ని బాగున్నాయి ఇక్కడే ఉండండి అనీ ఆరోజు అన్నాను’ అని చెప్పుకొచ్చారు.

అయితే తాను ఏపీని కించ పరచే విధంగా మాట్లాడాను అని కొందరు నాయకులు అనడం, అది వారి విజ్ఞతకు వదిలేస్తున్నాను అన్నారు. అడిగినదానికి సమాధానం చెప్పలేక ఇలాంటి మాటలు మాట్లాడుతున్నారన్న మంత్రి.. చేతనైతే ప్రత్యేక హోదా కోసం, విశాఖ ఉక్కు కోసం పోరాడండంటూ వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. పోలవరం తొందరగా పూర్తి చేసి కాలేశ్వరం లాగా నీళ్లు అందించండి అంటూ సవాల్‌ విసిరారు.
