In next four days i.e. between February 24-26, Congress party plenary meeting will be held in Raipur. The Congress alleged that the BJP ED was conducting searches as part of a conspiracy to block the plenary sessions. The Congress strongly warned that 2024 is not far away and the officials who are carrying out these attacks will be punished. CM Bhupesh Baghel questioned why ED is not raiding the house of former CM and BJP leader Raman Singh, who runs many shell companies. He alleged that the ED raids were being conducted under the direction of Raman Singh.
In the form of coal levy scam in Chhattisgarh, there have been suspicions of a huge extortion conspiracy to the tune of Rs.450 crores in the last two years. ED has registered a money laundering case on the complaint of the Income Tax Department and is investigating the matter. The ED has already arrested nine people, including CM Deputy Secretary Soumya Chaurasia, IAS officer Sameer Vaishnoi, Suryakant Tiwari and coal businessman Sunil Agarwal, who are accused as benami in this scam. Their properties were also attached.
