Ratan Tata’s Wealth Distribution in His Will
Legendary businessman Ratan Tata, who passed away last year, left behind a detailed will regarding his wealth. As per reports, a major part of his assets, nearly ₹3,800 crores, has been dedicated to charity. His endowment foundation and trusts will receive most of his wealth, including his shares in Tata Sons and other assets. If these shares are ever sold, they must be offered to existing shareholders first.
Beneficiaries of Ratan Tata’s Will
Ratan Tata’s stepsisters, Shirin Jajibhoy and Diana Jajibhoy, received ₹800 crores worth of fixed deposits, stocks, luxury watches, and paintings. His close associate Mohan M. Datta also inherited assets worth ₹800 crores. His brother, Jimmy Naval Tata, was granted a share in his Juhu bungalow, along with silverware and gold jewelry. His friend Mehil Mistry inherited a bungalow in Alibaug and three pistols.
Special Allocations in Ratan Tata’s Will
Known for his love for street dogs, Ratan Tata allocated ₹12 lakh for their care and medical treatment, ensuring ₹30,000 is spent every three months. He also forgave educational and financial loans of his assistant Shantanu Naidu and his neighbor Jake Malite. Additionally, he had ₹40 crores in foreign assets, including property in Seychelles and investments in companies like Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and Alcoa Corporation.
