The Department of School Education has once again raised the application fee for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Earlier, they had increased it to Rs. 100 after conducting the TET in 2016. In 2017, they raised it to Rs. 200, and in June 2022, the fee was raised to Rs. 300.

Currently, the registration fee for the TET, which is conducted three times nationwide, stands at Rs. 400. Applicants are questioning why they have to pay the same amount even if they are only applying for Paper-1 of the examination. They are requesting clarification on this matter.

"In general, candidates who have appeared for state and national level competitive exams or entrance exams for SSC (Staff Selection Commission) and TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) categories are charged relatively high fees.

 However, only TET candidates are exempted from paying any fee. The state D.Ed (Diploma in Education) and B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) aspirants' association, led by the State President Rammohan Reddy, demanded that the fees be reduced significantly or waived off altogether.
