Andhra Nadda Contacts CM Naidu Requests Report on Laddu Controversy

NEW DELHI: Union Health Minister JP Nadda stated that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will investigate allegations regarding the use of animal fat in the preparation of Srivari Laddus and take appropriate action. On Friday, he communicated with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, requesting a report on the matter.
Speaking to the media about the health sector's achievements during the first 100 days of the Modi government's third term, Nadda said, "I learned about this issue through social media. I spoke with Chandrababu Naidu today and asked him to provide the available report for my review. I will also consult with state regulators to gather their perspectives."
He emphasized that the report would be assessed, and necessary actions would be taken in accordance with FSSAI regulations. "The FSSAI will investigate, compile a report, and then we will proceed accordingly," he explained.
In response to the situation, Union Food Minister Pralhad Joshi also called for an inquiry into the allegations, which have raised concerns among devotees. "What the Andhra Chief Minister has stated is a serious matter. A thorough investigation is needed, and those responsible should be held accountable," Joshi remarked on the sidelines of a global food regulators' summit in Delhi.
