Virat Kohli Breaks New Records in T20 Cricket: Highest Number of 50+ Runs While Batting First

Virat Kohli has set a new record in T20 cricket by becoming the player with the most 50+ runs while batting first. So far, the "run machine" has scored 50 or more runs 61 times in his career. In a recent match against Rajasthan Royals, Kohli achieved this rare feat by scoring a half-century. With this, he surpassed Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam, who had 61 instances of 50+ runs while batting first.

Following Kohli, some of the prominent players in this record include Chris Gayle (57), David Warner (55), Jos Buttler (52), and Faf du Plessis (52). In the match against Rajasthan Royals, Kohli scored 70 runs off 42 balls, including eight fours and two sixes, with a strike rate of 166.67, making his performance stand out.

Another Record for Kohli: 3500 Runs at the Same Stadium

Virat Kohli has also created another rare record in T20 cricket. He became the first player to score 3500 runs at a single stadium. Kohli achieved this milestone at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, surpassing Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim, who had 3373 runs at Mirpur. Following Kohli, James Vince (3253 runs at Southampton), Alex Hales (3241 runs at Nottingham), and Tamim Iqbal (3238 runs at Mirpur) occupy the next spots.
