Former captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni, has created a record in the IPL. He surpassed former CSK player Suresh Raina to become the highest run-scorer for CSK. In yesterday's match against RCB, Dhoni's quickfire innings were remarkable. He scored an unbeaten 30 runs off 16 balls, thereby setting the record for the most runs by a CSK player.
Till now, MS Dhoni has represented Chennai in 236 matches, scoring 4,699 runs, surpassing Suresh Raina's record (4,687 runs in 176 matches). Following them, Faf du Plessis (2,721), Ruturaj Gaikwad (2,433), and Ambati Rayudu (1,932) occupy the next positions.
Kohli's Record Against CSK
In IPL history, Virat Kohli has set the record for the most runs against CSK. He has scored 1,084 runs in 33 innings so far. This record was previously held by Shikhar Dhawan (1,057 runs). Following them are Rohit Sharma (896), Dinesh Karthik (727), and David Warner (696). Kohli scored 31 runs off 30 balls in the match against CSK yesterday.
In the match played yesterday at Chepauk, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated CSK by 50 runs. Batting first, Bangalore posted a massive total of 196/7 in 20 overs. In response, Chennai could only manage 146/8 while chasing the target of 197 runs.
