He stated that ₹2,520 crore will be allocated for this purpose, and mentioned plans to complete construction of 8.02 lakh houses at various stages by March 2025.
Minister for Housing, and Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy announced that the Housing Department aims to finish building 1.28 lakh houses within the next 100 days. Following a review meeting on the housing scheme status at the Secretariat on July 3, Mr. Parthasarathy addressed the media, stating that ₹2,520 crore will be allocated for constructing these 1.28 lakh houses. He further outlined plans to complete the construction of a total of 8.02 lakh houses, currently in different stages, by March 2025.
In the review meeting, Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy directed the utilization of fly ash from AP-Genco's thermal power plants located in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Nellore, and Kadapa districts for developing housing layouts. The government also plans to address issues faced by beneficiaries in the Option-3 category soon.
According to an official release, during the meeting, Mr. Parthasarathy sought updates on the progress of houses being constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He emphasized the need to address delays that occurred during the previous YSR Congress Party regime and instructed immediate steps to resume stalled projects.
Additionally, he instructed the filling of vacancies within the department on a priority basis to ensure targets are met. Special Chief Secretary (Housing) Ajay Jain, Special Secretary B. Mohamed Diwan Mydeen, and AP Housing Corporation MD PS. Girisha were present during the meeting.
