Award Presentation on Civil Services Day

V. Prasanna Venkatesh was honored with the prestigious Prime Minister's Award (2023-24) on Civil Services Day for his outstanding services as the Eluru District Collector. The award was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, during the Developed India Program on Monday, April 17.

The Prime Minister's Award is one of the highest recognitions for civil services in India, and V. Prasanna Venkatesh is among the top 10 IAS officers in the country to receive this award for their exemplary administrative performance. Serving as the Eluru District Collector from January 2022 to July 2024, he played a key role in implementing government schemes, promoting women’s health, and tackling anemia among girls and women in the district.

His social initiative, ‘Akshaj’, aimed at improving maternal and child healthcare in the tribal areas of the district, was a significant step in ensuring public health. By promoting good governance and ensuring effective delivery of services to the people, Prasanna Venkatesh has been recognized as a role model for civil services in India. He expressed his gratitude to the central government and assured that he would continue his dedication to public service.
