Dhruva Space headquartered in Hyderabad has received approval to offer GSaaS

Hyderabad-based space engineering solutions provider Dhruva Space has received authorization from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe) to offer Ground Stations as a Service (GSaaS). The company has developed six ground stations operating in Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) bands, along with two ground stations in S and/or X bands.
Established in 2021 at IIT-Hyderabad, Dhruva Space's S&X Ground Station now serves as a cornerstone of the company's ground segment solutions. This facility will support Dhruva Space's upcoming LEAP-1 hosted payload mission scheduled later this year.
The firm is actively engaged in discussions with global ground station operators to expand its network into a worldwide array of earth stations. This initiative aims to provide seamless satellite operation capabilities globally and facilitate operations from any location worldwide.
Currently, establishing ground stations in India entails significant upfront operational costs. However, GSaaS offers a cost-effective alternative by providing access to shared ground station infrastructure, thereby lowering financial barriers for satellite operators.
Moreover, Dhruva Space addresses the challenge of scaling ground station capabilities according to specific mission requirements. Their mission-agnostic GSaaS approach offers a flexible service model, enabling satellite operators to adjust ground station resources as per their operational needs.
