Until the last few days, tomato farmers were making profits.. common people were in tears. But now the tomato prices are suddenly falling.
Till yesterday Rs. 30 to Rs. The price of tomato which was quoted till 40s.. Today there are no buyers of Anna for 5 rupees per kilo. Labodibo, the breadwinner, says that a kilo of tomato costs one rupee. At least tea is not available for a rupee.. but the breadwinner cuts his wings.. taking care of the crops with more love than his children.. but if needed, the crop can be found in the market for half a rupee per kilo.
In some parts of Andhra Pradesh , the yield of tomato crop is high. On the other hand, the tomato farmers are suffering losses due to the lack of proper exports.
The fall in tomato prices is bringing tears to the farmers of Kurnool district. The price of tomato has fallen heavily in Emmiganoor market. For the past 10 days, the farmers have been expressing their anguish over the lack of price for tomatoes in the Emmiganoor market.
Due to the low price or Rs.1 per kg, the tomato farmers are leaving the tomato boxes they brought in the market and dumping them on the road. Tomato farmers are still demanding that the government should support them by providing affordable prices.

గత కొన్ని రోజుల క్రితం వరకూ టమాటా రైతులకు లాభాలను.. సామాన్యులకు కంట కన్నీరు పెట్టించాయి. అయితే ఇప్పుడు టమాటా ధరలు అకస్మాత్తుగా నేలచూపులు చూస్తున్నాయి. నిన్నా మొన్నటి వరకూ కిలో రూ. 30 నుంచి రూ. 40ల వరకూ పలికిన టమాటా ధర.. నేడు కిలో ఐదు రూపాయలు అన్నా కొనేవారు లేరు. కిలో టమోటో ఒక్క రూపాయి పలకడంతో అన్నదాత లబోదిబో అంటున్నారు. రూపాయికి కనీసం టీ కూడా రావడం లేదు.. కానీ అన్నదాత ఆరుగాలం రెక్కలు ముక్కలు చేసి.. కన్నబిడ్డలకంటే అధికమైన ప్రేమతో పంటలను సంరక్షిస్తూ.. పంటలను పండించే పంట మాత్రం అవసరమైతే మార్కెట్ లో కిలో అర్ధ రూపాయికి కూడా దొరుకుంటుంది.
ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లోని కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో టమాటా పంట దిగుబడి అధికంగా ఉండడం.. మరోవైపు ఎగుమతులు సరిగ్గా లేకపోవడంతో టమాటా రైతులు.. నష్టపోతున్నారు.
టమోటా ధరలు పతనం కర్నూలు జిల్లా రైతుల్ని కన్నీళ్లు పెట్టిస్తోంది. ఎమ్మిగనూరు మార్కెట్ లో టమోటా ధర భారీగా పతనమైంది.రైతులు గిట్టుబాటు ధర లేక లబోదిబోమంటున్నారు. గత 10 రోజులుగా ఎమ్మిగనూరు మార్కెట్ లో టమోటాకు ధర లేక రైతులు ఆవేదనా వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.గిట్టుబాటు ధర లేక కిలో రూపాయి పలకడంతో టమోటా రైతులు రవాణా ఖర్చు కూడా రావడం లేదని తెచ్చిన టమోటా బాక్స్ లను మార్కెట్ లోనే వదిలి, రోడ్ పైన పారబోసి వెళుతున్నారు. ఇప్పటికైనా గిట్టుబాటు ధర కల్పించి ప్రభుత్వం తమను ఆదుకోవాలని టమోటా రైతులు డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నారు.
