In APSarkar has given good news to those who have ration cards. Instead of the present ration of rice, it has been decided to give ragu and sorghum. Officials said that it will be implemented as a pilot project in the present Rayalaseema districts. If it is successful there.. this system will be implemented in the whole state step by step. Rice is provided at the rate of 5 kg per month to each beneficiary who has a present ration card.

 But the mindset of people has changed after Corona. They are showing interest in eating more protein food and fortified food. With this, the government thought of giving other grains with nutritional value instead of rice. The United Nations has also declared 2023 as the year of Cereals.. and is encouraging in that direction. In this order, on 18th of last month, CM Jagan conducted a review and took a decision. Ragi and sorghum are less expensive than rice and have many health benefits.

ఏపీలో రేషన్ కార్డులు ఉన్నవారికి శుభవార్త చెప్పింది సర్కార్. ప్రజంట్ ఇస్తున్న రేషన్ బియ్యం బదులు రాగులు, జొన్నలు ఇవ్వాలని నిర్ణయించింది.  ప్రజంట్ రాయలసీమ జిల్లాల్లో పైలట్‌ ప్రాజెక్టుగా అమలు చేయనునట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. అక్కడ సక్సెస్ అయితే..  దశల వారీగా రాష్ట్రమంతటా ఈ విధానం అమలు అవ్వనుంది. ప్రజంట్ రేషన్ కార్డు ఉన్న.. ఒక్కో లబ్ధిదారుడికి  నెలకు 5 కేజీల చొప్పున బియ్యం అందజేస్తున్నారు. 

అయితే కరోనా అనంతరం ప్రజల మైండ్ సెట్ మారింది. ఎక్కువ ప్రొటీన్ ఫుడ్, బలవర్ధక ఆహారం తినేందుకు ఆసక్తి చూపిస్తున్నారు. దీంతో రైస్ బదులు పోషక విలువలున్న ఇతర ధాన్యాలను ఇవ్వాలని ప్రభుత్వం ఆలోచన చేసింది. ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి కూడా 2023ను చిరుధాన్యాల సంవత్సరంగా ప్రకటించి.. ఆ దిశగా  ప్రోత్సహిస్తోంది. ఈ క్రమంలో.. గత నెల 18న సీఎం జగన్ సమీక్ష నిర్వహించి నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు. బియ్యం కంటే రాగులు, జొన్నలకు అయ్యే ఖర్చే తక్కువ.. అలాగే ఆరోగ్యపరంగా ఎన్నో ఉపయోగాలు ఉన్నాయి. అందుకే రేషన్‌ బియ్యం బదులు రాగులు, జొన్నలు పంపిణీ చేయాలని సూచించారు.
