APPSC Group 2 Mains Exam: High Court Rejects APPSC Group 2 Exam Postponement, Exam to Be Held as Scheduled on February 23

High Court Rejects APPSC Group 2 Mains Exam Postponement: Exam to be Held on February 23 as Scheduled

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has rejected the request to postpone the APPSC Group 2 Mains Exam scheduled for February 23. The court ruled that if the exam was delayed, it would cause severe harm to all the eligible candidates. It stated that out of 92,250 eligible candidates, the exam cannot be postponed for the sake of just two petitioners.

The court made it clear that postponing the exam would jeopardize the interests of all eligible candidates, and no interim orders could be issued in this case. The petitioners had raised objections about the horizontal reservation system and requested the postponement of the exams. The court also noted that if the petitioners succeeded in their case, the entire process would have to be restarted, which would further delay the recruitment process.

The High Court also emphasized that the final recruitment decisions would be based on the verdict in these cases. The court directed the government to file a counter within 10 days, and adjourned the next hearing to March 11. As a result, all obstacles to the conduct of the Group 2 exam on February 23 have been removed.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary, K. Vijay Anand, confirmed that arrangements are being made for the exam, and instructed collectors and SPs to ensure strict security measures at all exam centers to avoid any untoward incidents.

The exams will be held in 175 centers across 13 joint districts. Any rumors or misinformation spread on social media regarding the exam will be dealt with strictly. Paper 1 will be held from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, and Paper 2 will take place from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates are required to reach their respective exam centers by 9:30 AM for the morning session and by 2:30 PM for the afternoon session. The gates will close at 9:45 AM and 2:45 PM, respectively, and latecomers will not be allowed to enter. Section 144 prohibitory orders will be enforced within a 100-meter radius of the exam centers.
