Vijayawada:Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, overseeing Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, Environment, Forest, and Science and Technology, has instructed the Forest Department to implement robust measures for tiger conservation and to take a firm stance against poachers. He emphasized that an effective action plan is essential to boost the tiger population in the state, as protecting tigers is crucial for maintaining forest ecosystems and ecological balance.
Addressing a Global Tiger Day event at Aranya Bhavan in Mangalagiri on Monday, Pawan Kalyan reviewed the current status of the tiger population and security in tiger reserves. He highlighted that Indian culture promotes the concept of 'Vasudhaika Kutumbam,' which embraces all life forms, including plants and animals. “As a Forest Minister, it is my duty to protect our forest resources and wildlife. Those involved in forest destruction and wildlife poaching will face strict action,” he stated. “Forests cannot exist without tigers, and tigers cannot survive without forests. Therefore, it is crucial to safeguard tigers,” he added.
Additionally, Pawan Kalyan announced plans to develop a special wildlife corridor from Srisailam to Seshachalam forests to enhance tiger protection. During the event, he also visited a photo exhibition organized by Bobbili MLA RVSKK Ranga Rao (Baby Nayana), a noted wildlife photographer.
