Sourav Ganguly Reappointed as Chairperson of ICC Men’s Cricket Committee for Three More Years

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to reappoint former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly as the Chairperson of the ICC Men's Cricket Committee for another three years. Along with Ganguly, his fellow cricketer VVS Laxman has also been reappointed as a member of the committee. This decision was announced by the ICC, reaffirming Ganguly's role in shaping the future of men’s international cricket.

Ganguly, who led the Indian team from 2000 to 2005, was first appointed as the Chairperson of the committee in 2021, taking over from legendary spinner Anil Kumble. The 52-year-old Ganguly will continue to serve in this important position for the next three years. The committee also includes prominent figures such as former Afghanistan player Hamid Hassan, West Indies batting legend Desmond Haynes, South African captain Temba Bavuma, and former England batsman Jonathan Trott.

In addition, the ICC Women’s Cricket Committee will be led by Kathryn Campbell, a former off-spinner from New Zealand. Other members of the Women's Committee include Australian player Alyssa Healy and Cricket South Africa (CSA) representative Folateci Moseki. These appointments are aimed at strengthening the committees and driving forward the global development of the game.
