In this incident, a Greyhounds constable died when the electric wires were cut near the Jubilee Hills check post. A constable named Veeraswamy (40) was riding his bike through Jubilee Hills during the rain. Due to this Veeraswamy died on the spot. According to the information given by the police, Solem Veeraswamy, who lives in Gandipet on the outskirts of Hyderabad, is working as a greyhounds constable. They were going towards NTR Bhavan from Jubilee Hills Road No. 1 at 9.40 pm on Sunday. Heavy rain has already started with strong gales. At this time the electric wire broke and fell on Veeraswamy. He got electrocuted and fell down from the bike and became unconscious.
After receiving the information, the Jubilee Hills patrol police immediately rushed Veeraswamy to the hospital. But the doctors said that he was already dead. Veeraswamy's native place is Gangaram in Mahabubabad district. The police said that he was electrocuted while traveling with a friend of the Yousafguda battalion. On the other hand, the city suddenly became pitch black with the pouring rain. The rain has caused severe power outages in many parts of the city. On the main roads, power supply was disrupted due to tree branches falling in the colony. With this, the officials of the electricity department are trying to improve the situation.

హైదరాబాద్‌లో ఆదివారం రాత్రి కురిసిన కుండపోత వర్షానికి పలు ప్రాంతాలు జలమయమయ్యాయి. పలు చోట్ల చెట్లు, విద్యుత్ తీగలు తెగిపడ్డాయి. దీంతో జనజీవనం స్తంభించిపోయింది. ఈక్రమంలో జూబ్లీహిల్స్‌ చెక్‌పోస్ట్‌ సమీపంలో విద్యుత్ తీగలు తెగిపడి ఓ గ్రౌహౌండ్స్‌ కానిస్టేబుల్‌ మృతి చెందాడు. వీరాస్వామి అనే కానిస్టేబుల్‌(40) వర్షం సమయంలో జూబ్లీహిల్స్‌ మీదుగా బైక్‌పై వెళుతుండగా.. ప్రమాదవశాత్తూ విద్యుత్ తీగలు తెగిపడ్డాయి. దీంతో అక్కడికక్కడే దుర్మరణం పాలయ్యాడు వీరాస్వామి. పోలీసులు తెలిపిన సమాచారం ప్రకారం.. హైదరాబాద్‌ శివార్లలోని గండిపేటలో నివసించే సోలెం వీరాస్వామి గ్రేహౌండ్స్‌ కానిస్టేబుల్‌గా పనిచేస్తున్నాడు. ఆదివారం రాత్రి 9.40 గంటల సమయంలో జూబ్లీహిల్స్‌ రోడ్‌ నంబర్‌ 1 నుంచి ఎన్టీఆర్‌ భవన్‌ వైపు వెళ్తున్నారు. అప్పటికే బలమైన ఈదురుగాలులతో భారీ వర్షం మొదలైంది. ఈ సమయంలో విద్యుత్ తీగ తెగి వీరాస్వామిపై పడింది. కరెంట్‌ షాక్‌కు గురైన ఆయన బైక్‌పై నుంచి కిందపడిపోయి అపస్మారక స్థితిలోకి వెళ్లిపోయాడు.
సమాచారం అందుకున్న జూబ్లీహిల్స్‌ పెట్రోలింగ్‌ పోలీసులు వీరాస్వామిని వెంటనే ఆస్పత్రికి తరలించారు. అయితే ఆయన అప్పటికే మృతి చెందినట్టు వైద్యులు తెలిపారు. వీరాస్వామి స్వస్థలం మహబూబాబాద్‌ జిల్లా గంగారం అని.. యూసఫ్‌గూడ బెటాలియన్‌లో మిత్రుడిని కలిసి వెళుతుండగా విద్యుత్ ఘాతానికి గురయ్యారని పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. మరోవైపు కుండ పోత వర్షంతో నగరం ఒక్కసారిగా చిమ్మ చీకటిగా మారింది. నగరంలోని చాలా ప్రాంతాల్లో వర్షం కారణంగా విద్యుత్ సరఫరాకు తీవ్ర అంతరాయం ఏర్పడింది. మెయిన్ రోడ్ల మీద, కాలనీలో చెట్ల కొమ్మలు విరిగిపడటంతో విద్యుత్ సరఫరా నిలిచిపోయింది. దీంతో విద్యుత్ శాఖ అధికారులు రంగంలోకి దిగి పరిస్థితిని చక్కదిద్దే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తున్నారు
