The threat of Cyclone Mocha is looming. IMD informed that Mocha, a severe cyclone formed in South-East Bay of Bengal, has turned into a cyclonic storm and is moving in a north-northwest direction. The Meteorological Department has warned that the impact of Cyclone Mocha will be severe on the northeastern states. The Indian Meteorological Department has announced that heavy rains will occur in the northeastern states under the influence of Cyclone Mokha. Heavy rains will be recorded in Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the influence of Cyclone Mocha.

తుఫాను కారణంగా ఆగ్నేయ బంగాళాఖాతం, అండమాన్‌ సముద్రం అల్లకల్లోలంగా మారనుంది. గరిష్టంగా గంటకు 120 కి.మీ వేగంతో బలమైన ఈదురుగాలులు వీస్తాయని వాతావరణ శాఖ ప్రకటించింది. మరోవైపు కొంకణ్ తీరంతో పాటు కేరళ, తమిళనాడులలో రానున్న 5 రోజుల పాటు వాతావరణం తీవ్ర ఉక్కపోతగా ఉండనుంది. గుజరాత్, మధ్య మహారాష్ట్ర, బిహార్, పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్ రాష్ట్రాలతో పాటు రాజస్థాన్, కోస్తా ఆంధ్రా, యానాం ప్రాంతాల్లో హీట్ వేవ్ ప్రభావం తీవ్రంగా ఉండనుందని భారత వాతావరణ శాఖ ప్రకటించింది. ఈ నెల 15 వరకు ఇదే పరిస్థితి కొనసాగుతుందని ప్రకటించింది.
