YSR Congress leader Kodali Nani, who has been a dominant figure in Gudivada politics for the past two decades, faced a surprising defeat in the recent elections, losing by a significant margin of over 50,000 votes. Known for his outspoken and confrontational stance against leaders from opposition parties like TDP and JSP, Nani has since disappeared from public view.
The electoral success of TDP+ in the recent polls, which reduced YSR Congress to just 11 seats, seems to have contributed to Nani's retreat from the political scene. Recent developments have further complicated his situation. Volunteers in Gudivada lodged a police complaint alleging that Nani pressured them to resign from their positions. Additionally, another case implicates him in the mistreatment of a man leasing a godown belonging to AP Beverages.
Further adding to his woes, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has initiated an investigation into a ration rice scam that allegedly occurred during Nani's tenure as Civil Supplies Minister. The current minister, Nadendla Manohar, is actively pursuing this investigation, intensifying scrutiny on Nani.
Recent reports suggest that Nani has become inaccessible even to his own supporters and party workers, raising questions about his current whereabouts.
After years of being a vocal critic of leaders like Babu, Pawan, and Lokesh with his sharp remarks, Nani's once unshakeable presence in Gudivada, a constituency he held for two decades, now appears uncertain.
