Rajat Patidar has been named the new captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for IPL 2025. The franchise officially announced his appointment at an event at KSCA on February 13.

After releasing Faf du Plessis, RCB was in search of a new captain. Patidar, who led Madhya Pradesh to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final, was chosen for his leadership skills and consistency.

Patidar made his IPL debut with RCB in 2021 and has played 27 matches, scoring 799 runs at a strike rate of 158.85. He was retained by RCB for ₹11 Crore, alongside Virat Kohli and Yash Dayal.
