New Delhi, March 27: The Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) hosted an Iftar event to celebrate the holy month of Ramzan for ambassadors from 19 Muslim countries in India. The event took place at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP and IMF Convener, Satnam Singh Sandhu, in New Delhi.

The Iftar was attended by diplomats from countries like Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria, Gambia, Mali, Bangladesh, Sudan, and more. Islamic scholars, religious leaders, and intellectuals were also present. Before breaking their fast, attendees prayed for peace and harmony in India and around the world.

During the event, ambassadors praised India’s long-standing relationship with the Muslim world. They acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership in strengthening ties with Muslim-majority countries across South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East over the last decade.

The ambassadors highlighted PM Modi’s efforts to enhance India’s economic and security partnerships with the Gulf nations, which supply over 60% of India’s oil. They also emphasized that India's trade relations with Muslim countries have reached new heights, with bilateral trade surpassing $200 billion.

PM Modi’s support for global peace was also discussed. The envoys appreciated India’s role in promoting stability and providing humanitarian aid to regions like Palestine and Afghanistan. They noted that India has never used military aggression against Muslim-majority countries, instead focusing on peaceful diplomacy and cooperation.

Satnam Singh Sandhu, while hosting the event, expressed that Ramzan is a time for reflection, generosity, and community bonding. He also praised India’s diverse and inclusive society, mentioning how PM Modi’s "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with All, Development for All) has fostered unity among people of all faiths.
