Google CEO Sundar Pichai Meets PM Modi, Discusses AI Opportunities in India at Paris Summit

Paris, Feb 12: Google CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted the "incredible opportunities" that artificial intelligence (AI) can offer to India after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the AI Action Summit in Paris. He emphasized potential collaborations between Google and India to drive the country’s digital transformation.

On social media platform X, Pichai shared, "Delighted to meet with PM Narendra Modi today while in Paris for the AI Action Summit. We discussed the incredible opportunities AI will bring to India and ways we can work closely together on India's digital transformation."

Earlier, PM Modi addressed the India-France CEOs Forum, underscoring its role in strengthening economic ties and fostering innovation. He praised collaborations between Indian and French businesses for creating new growth opportunities. Modi also highlighted India’s leadership in AI adoption, data privacy solutions, and building digital infrastructure for over 1.4 billion people.

During the summit, PM Modi co-chaired sessions with French President Emmanuel Macron, focusing on AI and innovation. He noted the trust and shared values between India and France, emphasizing collaboration through initiatives like the International Solar Alliance. Modi also discussed India’s progress in developing its large language model, showcasing the nation’s commitment to building an inclusive and responsible AI future.

Modi reiterated India's readiness to share its expertise in AI with the world, stating, "We are at the dawn of the AI age that will shape humanity. India is ready to share its experience and expertise to ensure that the AI future is for good and for all." He also stressed the importance of sustainability in AI development and human responsibility in shaping the technology-driven future.
