If the same policy continues, 15 percent unreserved quota will have to be implemented in the increased number of medical colleges as well. Due to this Telangana students will have to lose more seats. Recognizing this, the Telangana government amended the rules by restricting the unreserved quota to only 20 old medical colleges. The latest amendment made the provision not applicable to the 36 new medical colleges. With this, 520 medical seats are available for Telangana students.
It is already known that 85 percent of the MBBS 'B' category seats have been reserved locally for Telangana students, thus 1300 MBBS seats are available for Telangana students.

Due to these two decisions taken by the Telangana government, a total of 1820 seats will be available every year. An addition of 1820 seats is equivalent to setting up about 20 new medical colleges. Every year, even if the number of colleges increases, the number of these seats will increase.
All India Kota 15% seats in new medical colleges will remain unchanged. In which anyone can get admission based on merit anywhere in the country including Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

After the formation of Telangana, the medical sector of Telangana has seen significant growth. Setting up a medical college for the district has set an example for the country. మెడిసిన్‌ చదవాలనుకునే విద్యార్థులకు తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం గుడ్ న్యూస్ చెప్పింది. తెలంగాణ స్టేట్ మెడికల్ కాలేజెస్ అడ్మిషన్ రూల్స్‌కు సవరణ చేస్తూ తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేసింది. తెలంగాణ సోయితో ఆలోచించిన ప్రభుత్వం తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకు అదనంగా 1820 మెడికల్ సీట్లు వచ్చేలా చేసింది. ఏపీ రీఆర్గనైజషన్ ఆక్ట్, ఆర్టికల్ 371D నిబంధనలకు లోబడి అడ్మిషన్ రూల్స్‌కు సవరణ చేశానే. దీని ప్రకారం.. 2014 జూన్ 2 తర్వాత ఏర్పాటు చేసిన మెడికల్ కాలేజీల్లోని కాంపిటేటివ్ అథారిటీ కోటాలోని 100 శాతం సీట్లను తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకే రిజర్వ్ చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. అంతకు ముందు 85 శాతం మాత్రమే స్థానిక విద్యార్థులకు ఉండగా, మిగతా 15శాతం అన్ రిజర్వుడుగా ఉండేది. ఇందులో తెలంగాణతో పాటు ఏపీ విద్యార్థులు కూడా పోటీ పడి ఎంబీబీఎస్ సీట్లు పొందేవారు. తాజా నిర్ణయం వల్ల తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకు ఎక్కువ ఎంబీబీఎస్ సీట్లు దక్కనున్నాయి.

తెలంగాణ ప్రజలకు సూపర్ స్పెషాలిటీ సేవలు చేరువ చేయడంతో పాటు, తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకు వైద్య విద్య అందించేందుకు సీఎం కేసీఆర్ జిల్లాకు ఓ మెడికల్ కాలేజీ చొప్పున ప్రారంభించారు. తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటుకు ముందు ప్రభుత్వ, ప్రైవేటులో కలిపి రాష్ట్రంలో 20 మెడికల్ కాలేజీలు ఉంటే, ఇప్పుడు ఆ సంఖ్య 56కు చేర్చించింది తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం. నాడు తెలంగాణలో 2,850 ఎంబీబీఎస్ సీట్లు మాత్రమే ఉంటే, ఇప్పుడు 8,340 సీట్లకు పెరిగింది.
తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటుకు ముందు ఉన్న 20 మెడికల్ కాలేజీల్లోని 2,850 సీట్లలో కాంపిటెంట్ అథారిటీ కోటా కింద 1,895 సీట్లు ఉండేవి. ఇందులో 15శాతం అన్ రిజర్వుడు కోటాగా 280 సీట్లు కేటాయించాల్సి వచ్చేది. ఇందులో తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులతో పాటు, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ విద్యార్థులు అవకాశం పొందేవారు. దీంతో తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులు సీట్లు కోల్పోవాల్సి వచ్చేది.

ఇదే విధానం కొనసాగితే, పెరిగిన మెడికల్ కాలేజీల్లో కూడా 15 శాతం అన్ రిజర్వుడు కోటా అమలు చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. దీని వల్ల మరిన్ని సీట్లు తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులు కోల్పోవాల్సి వస్తుంది. దీన్ని గుర్తించిన తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం, అన్ రిజర్వుడు కోటాను కేవలం పాత 20 మెడికల్ కాలేజీలకు మాత్రమే పరిమితం చేస్తూ నిబంధనలకు సవరణ చేసింది. కొత్తగా వచ్చిన 36 మెడికల్ కాలేజీలకు ఆ నిబంధన వర్తించకుండా తాజా సవరణ చేసింది. దీంతో 520 మెడికల్ సీట్లు తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకు అదనంగా లభిస్తున్నాయి.
ఇప్పటికే ఎంబీబీఎస్ ‘బీ’ కేటగిరి సీట్లలో 85 శాతం సీట్లు తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకే చెందేలా లోకల్ రిజర్వ్ చేసుకోవడం వల్ల, తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకు అదనంగా 1300 ఎంబీబీఎస్ సీట్లు విషయం తెలిసిందే.

తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకున్న ఈ రెండు నిర్ణయాల వల్ల మొత్తం 1820 సీట్లు ప్రతి ఏటా దక్కనున్నాయి. 1820 సీట్లు అదనంగా అంటే దాదాపు 20 కొత్త మెడికల్ కాలేజీల ఏర్పాటుతో సమానం. ప్రతి ఏటా కాలేజీలు పెరిగినా కొద్ది ఈ సీట్ల మరింత పెరగనుంది.
కొత్త మెడికల్ కాలేజీలలో అల్ ఇండియా కోట 15% సీట్లు యధాతదం గా ఉంటాయి. దీనిలో తెలంగాణ మరియు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ తో సహా దేశంలో ఎక్కడివారైనా మెరిట్ ప్రకారం అడ్మిషన్ పొందవచ్చు.

‘తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటు తర్వాత తెలంగాణ వైద్యారోగ్య రంగం గణనీయమైన వృద్ది సాధించింది. జిల్లాకు ఒక మెడికల్ కాలేజీ ఏర్పాటు చేస్తూ దేశానికి ఆదర్శంగా నిలిచింది. ఒకవైపు మెడికల్ కాలేజీలు ఏర్పాటు చేస్తూనే, ఎక్కువ సీట్లు తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులకు దక్కేలా ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలు తీసుకుంటున్నది. తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులు అవకాశం సద్వినియోగం చేసుకోవాలి’.
