Duck – Golden Egg

There was a farmer in a village. He had a duck. It lays a golden egg every day. He used to spend his time comfortably by selling that golden egg.

But after some time he wanted to become the richest among the rich people around him. Immediately he got an idea." This duck is giving only one egg a day. How many grudges are there in its stomach? He thought that if I can take all of them at once and become a rich man, I will cut its stomach and remove all those lumps.

As soon as he got that idea, he took a knife and cut the duck's stomach. There is not a single egg inside. That duck is a bit dead. He inquired that it would have been nice if he had taken an egg every day, but now he has already cheated.

Moral: Greed always trumps sorrow. Think before you act

A Sad Story

In a village there used to be an old Pisinari, a person who did not like to spend money except to save it. There was a small garden behind his house. He used to hide his gold coins in a hole under stones in the garden and put stones on top of it. But every day before going to bed, he used to secretly count the gold coins and put them back there.

One day a thief secretly observing all the daily activities of this Pisinari, like day, kept quiet on the tree till he counted the gold coins and hid them inside, then he went inside and stealthily stole the coins. The next day the old man saw and started crying.

Neighbors came and asked what happened and found out. “Someone hides money at home. What have you put in the ground? Can't you buy anything with it?" Said.

The Pisinari said, "Shall we buy it? I don't use that gold at all. It is only to hide it,” he said. Hearing this, he threw a stone into the hole and said, "If that is the case, take that as your money." Is it worth it when you don't use it? Raya and gold are the same. Both are worthless when you don't use them," he said and left.

Moral: It is the same with or without unused money.

Bad Habits

A rich man was very saddened by his child's bad habits. A wise adviser was appointed for the matter. The old man took the boy with him for a walk. He showed the child some small plants on the forest path and asked them to pick them. The kid pulled it off very easily.

After a little further, he pointed to the plants that had grown a little and asked, "Can you grow?" He said. Soon, he excitedly showed it to Pee. Going further, can you sprout a bush? he asked. With a little effort, he managed to grow it too.

He pointed to a bigger tree and asked if he could pluck it. "It's not because of me." "Have you seen it? Once our habits are ingrained like this, we cannot break them. Bad habits should be given up while still young. "Good habits should be cultivated and nurtured," he advised.

Moral: Bad habits are hard to break. They should be left at the beginning.

బాతు – బంగారు గ్రుడ్డు

ఒక ఊళ్ళో ఒక రైతు ఉండే వాడు. వాడి దగ్గర ఒక బాతు ఉండేది. అది ప్రతి రోజు ఒక బంగారు గ్రుడ్డు పెట్టేది . ఆ బంగారు గ్రుడ్డుని అమ్ముకుని వాడు హాయిగా కాలక్షేపం చేస్తూ ఉండేవాడు.

కానీ కొంతకాలం గడచిన తరవాత వాడి కి చుట్టూ ప్రక్కల ఉండే ధనవంతుల్లోకెల్లా గొప్ప ధనవంతుడు కావాలని కోరిక కలిగింది. వెంటనే వాడికి ఒక ఆలోచన వచ్చింది .”ఈ బాతు రోజు ఒక గ్రుడ్డు మాత్రమే ఇస్తోంది. దీని కడుపులో ఎన్నెన్ని గ్రుడ్లు ఉన్నాయో? అవన్నీ నేను ఒకేసారి తీసుకుని గొప్ప ధనవంతుణ్ణి అవ్వచ్చు గదా, దాని కడుపు కోసేసి ఆ గ్రుడ్లన్నీ తీసేసు కుంటాను” అని అనుకున్నాడు.

ఆ ఆలోచన రావటమే తడవుగా ఒక కత్తి తీసుకుని బాతుని కడుపు కోసి చూశాడు. లోపల ఒక్క గ్రుడ్డు కూడా లేదు. ఆ బాతు కాస్త చచ్చిపోయింది. చక్కగా రోజుకో గ్రుడ్డు తీసుకుని ఉంటే ఎంత బాగుండేది, ఇప్పుడు మొదటికే మోసం వచ్చింది గదా, అని విచారించ సాగాడు.

నీతి: దురాశ ఎప్పుడూ దుఃఖాన్నే మిగులుస్తుంది. పని చెసేముందే ఆలోచించాలి

ఒక పిసినారి కథ

ఒక పల్లె లో ఒక ముసలి పిసినారి, అంటే డబ్బు దాచుకోవటం తప్ప ఖర్చు పెట్టుకోవటం ఇష్టం లేని వాడు, ఉండేవాడు. అతని ఇంటి వెనుక చిన్న తోట ఉండేది. తన దగ్గరున్న బంగారు నాణాలని ఆ తోటలో రాళ్ళకింద గుంత లో దాచి, దాని పైన రాళ్లు పెట్టేవాడు. కానీ ప్రతి రోజు పడుకోబోయే ముందు ఒకసారి రహస్యం గా ఆ బంగారు నాణాలని లెక్కబెట్టుకుని మళ్లీ అక్కడే పెట్టి దాచేవాడు.

ఒక రోజు ఈ పిసినారి రోజువారీ పనులన్నీ రహస్యం గా గమనిస్తున్న ఒక దొంగ, రోజు లాగే, బంగారు నాణాలు లెక్కబెట్టి లోపల దాచేవరకు చెట్టుపైన నిశ్శబ్దంగా ఉండి, అతను లోపలికి వెళ్ళాక , గప్చిప్ గా నాణాలని దొంగిలించాడు. మర్నాడు ముసలి వాడు చూసుకుని గట్టిగా ఏడవడం మొదలుపెట్టాడు.

ఇంటిపక్కవాళ్ళు వొచ్చి, ఏమి జరిగిందని అడిగి, తెలుసుకున్నారు. “ఎవరైనా ఇంటిలో సొమ్ము దాచుకుంటారు. నువ్వేమిటి బైట, అదికూడా భూమిలో పెట్టుకున్నావు? దానితో ఏదైనా కొనుక్కోవాలన్నా వీలుకాదు కదా?” అన్నారు.

దానికి ఆ పిసినారి, “కొనుక్కోడామా? నేను అస్సలు ఆ బంగారం వాడనే వాడను. అది దాచుకోడానికి మాత్రమే,” అన్నాడు. ఇది విన్న ఒక అతను ఒక రాయి ఆ కుంట లోకి విసిరి, “అలా అయితే, అదే నీ సొమ్మనుకో. నువ్వు వాడనప్పుడు దానికి విలువేదీ? రాయైనా, బంగారమైన ఒకటేగా. నువ్వు వాడనప్పుడు రెండు విలువ లేనివే,” అంటూ వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.

నీతి : ఉపయోగించని సొమ్ము ఉన్నా, లేకున్నా ఒకటే.

చెడు అలవాట్లు

ఒక ధనికుడు తన పిల్లవాడి చెడు అలవాట్లని చూసి చాలా విచారించాడు. ఒక వివేకమైన సలహాదారుడిని ఈ విషయం కోసం నియమించాడు. ఆ పెద్ద మనిషి ఆ పిల్లవాడిని తనతో విహారానికి తీసుకెళ్లాడు. అడవి దారిలో పిల్లవాడికి చిన్న చిన్న మొక్కలు చూపి, వాటిని పీకమన్నాడు. పిల్లాడు చాలా సులువుగా తీసేసాడు.

ఇంకా కొంత ముందుకెళ్లాక, కొంచం పెరిగిన మొక్కలని చూపి, “పీకగలవా?” అన్నాడు. వెంటనే, ఉత్సాహంగా పీకి చూపించాడు. ఇంకా ముందుకి వెళ్ళాక, పొదని మొట్ట పెరికించగలవా? అని అడిగాడు. కొంచం కష్టపడి అది కూడా ఎలాగో పెరికించాడు.

ఇంకా పెద్ద చెట్టు చూపి, దానిని పీకగలవా అని అడిగాడు. “నా వల్ల కాదన్నాడు.” “చూసావా మరి? మన అలవాట్లు ఇలాగే పాతుకుపోయాక పీకలేము. లేతగా ఉన్నప్పుడే చెడ్డ అలవాట్లని వదిలెయ్యాలి. మంచి అలవాట్లని నాటుకోవాలి, పెంచుకోవాలి” అని ఉపదేశించాడు.

నీతి: చెడ్డ అలవాట్లని వదిలించుకోవటం కష్టం. మొదట్లోనే వాటిని వదిలిపెట్టాలి.
