Chandrasena was the Maharaja of the kingdom called Darika. Kausalya Devi was the queen of that kingdom. They had two children, Prince Kartikeya and Princess Mahanika.

One day the king went hunting with his son Kartikeya. While traveling in the forest, he noticed an old man sitting in a humble manner by the side of a hut near a river. Seeing that, the prince went to him and asked, “You look old, who are you and why are you sitting down like this?”

The old man noticed them and the prince said, "My name is Rama. I cut trees in the forest every week and sold firewood in the town for a week. Today, while cutting firewood, I got thirsty and came to the river bank to drink fresh water. Meanwhile, someone took my firewood, so I lost my income this week." But this week I sat empty-handed, not knowing how to run the house."

Then the prince understood the financial condition of the old man and said "Don't worry I am the prince of the poor kingdom I have not seen people in my kingdom suffering. You come with us we will give you a place to farm in the kingdom and you can farm and be happy with your family."

Ramaiah was very happy to hear the prince's words. The king's heart was filled with pride as he saw his son who would take care of all the people in the future. Then the soldiers who were following the king saluted the prince.

As soon as the prince returned to the kingdom, he gave the farm to Ramayya. With this, Ramaiah's family was happy in the kingdom.

The moral of this story

The first characteristic of a king is to relieve the distressed.

చంద్రసేనుడు దారిక అనే రాజ్యానికి మహారాజు. ఆ రాజ్యానికి కౌసల్యా దేవి రాణి. వారికి ఇద్దరు పిల్లలు, యువరాజు కార్తికేయ మరియు యువరాణి మహానిక.

ఒకరోజు రాజు తన కొడుకు కార్తికేయుడితో కలిసి వేటకు వెళ్లాడు. అడవిలో ప్రయాణిస్తున్నప్పుడు, ఒక నదికి సమీపంలో ఒక గుడిసె పక్కన ఒక వృద్ధుడు వినయంగా కూర్చోవడం గమనించాడు. అది చూసి యువరాజు అతని దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి, “నీకు ముసలితనం కనిపిస్తోంది, నువ్వు ఎవరు, ఎందుకు ఇలా కూర్చున్నావు?” అని అడిగాడు.

వృద్ధుడు వాటిని గమనించి, యువరాజు ఇలా అన్నాడు: "నా పేరు రామ. నేను ప్రతి వారం అడవిలో చెట్లు నరికి, ఒక వారం పాటు పట్టణంలో కట్టెలు అమ్ముతాను, ఈ రోజు, కట్టెలు కోస్తున్నప్పుడు, నాకు దాహం వేసి నది ఒడ్డుకు వచ్చాను. మంచినీళ్లు తాగండి. ఇంతలో ఎవరో నా కట్టెలు తీసుకెళ్ళారు, అందుకే ఈ వారం నా ఆదాయాన్ని కోల్పోయాను." కానీ ఈ వారం నేను ఇంటిని ఎలా నడపాలో తెలియక ఖాళీ చేతులతో కూర్చున్నాను.

అప్పుడు యువరాజు వృద్ధుని ఆర్థిక స్థితిని అర్థం చేసుకుని, "భయపడకు, నేను పేద రాజ్యానికి యువకుడను, నా రాజ్యంలో ప్రజలు బాధపడటం నేను చూడలేదు, మీరు మాతో రండి, మేము మీకు వ్యవసాయం చేయడానికి స్థలం ఇస్తాము. రాజ్యం మరియు మీరు వ్యవసాయం చేయవచ్చు మరియు మీ కుటుంబంతో సంతోషంగా ఉండవచ్చు."

యువరాజు మాటలు విని రామయ్య చాలా సంతోషించాడు. భవిష్యత్తులో ప్రజలందరినీ ఆదుకునే తన కొడుకును చూసి రాజు హృదయం గర్వంతో నిండిపోయింది. అప్పుడు రాజును అనుసరిస్తున్న సైనికులు యువరాజుకు వందనం చేశారు.

యువరాజు తిరిగి రాజ్యానికి రాగానే పొలాన్ని రామయ్యకు ఇచ్చాడు. దీంతో రామయ్య కుటుంబం రాజ్యంలో ఆనందంగా ఉంది.
