In a statewide decision, the High Court has fixed the minimum fee at Rs. 43,000 for private engineering colleges. Already, colleges that had decided on fees higher than this have been ordered by the High Court to refund an additional 10 percent fee.
The High Court has directed the Advanced Education Department and the Fee Regulatory Commission to take action in this matter. The Andhra Pradesh Private Engineering Colleges' Managements Association, represented by its Executive Director Shreedhar Topaatu, filed a petition seeking interest on the fee amount and other charges. The Court heard the arguments on Wednesday.
The Chief Justice Nimmagadda Venkateshwarlu has issued interim orders against the taxes imposed on the court's presentations. Following the petitions of the advocates who argued that they had no jurisdiction, the Honorable Justice Nimmagadda Venkateshwarlu and the intermediaries provided relief to the three-week-long hearing. As a result, the government has revised the fees for private engineering colleges in the pathway of High Court orders.
