Engineering Students Abduct and Assault Woman in Telangana One Arrested

WARANGAL: A B. Pharmacy student was reportedly raped in a hotel room near the Inthezargunj police station recently.
The incident occurred on September 15 but came to light only on Tuesday when the victim, who had returned to her village in Bhupalpally district, shared her traumatic experience with her mother.
Her mother approached Warangal Police Commissioner Ambar Kishor Jha on Tuesday night, detailing how her daughter had been sexually assaulted.
In response, the police commissioner instructed Warangal ACP B. Nandiram Naik and Inthezargunj inspector M. Shiva Kumar to file a case against the suspects and initiate an investigation.
According to the ACP, the B. Pharmacy student was coerced by two engineering students from a private college in Narsampet, Warangal district, to accompany them to a lodge.
“One of the accused, known to her, visited her hostel in Bollikunta on September 15. Despite her protests, he and the other suspect forced her into their car and took her to a hotel in Warangal,” the ACP stated. Once inside the room, the assailants pressured her to consume alcohol and subsequently assaulted her.
Following the complaint, police visited the lodge, collected CCTV footage, and retrieved the Aadhaar details of the suspects from the hotel. They identified the main accused and have taken him into custody. “We are actively searching for the other suspect,” stated Inthezargunj inspector Shiva Kumar. The victim has been taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
