In the Godavari districts the noise of Pulasa fish has started. Pulasa is the most expensive fish there. During the rainy season, there are very few pulasa fishes, but people go out to buy them. They are found only in the Godavari region from July to September.

 Pulasa caught in fishermen's nets is sold at a good price in local markets. Usually a kilo of fish is sold up to Rs.4 thousand. With the recent onset of the rainy season, the demand for 'Pulasa' fish has increased tremendously in Godavari district. At present the price of each Pulasa fish is Rs. Saying more than 20 thousand. Fishermen say that fish lovers book well in advance of the season.

During the rainy season, pulasa fishes migrate from the sea to the upper reaches of the rivers for breeding. Muddy waters of Godavari river are suitable for breeding.

 That is why they come to Godavari only during the rainy season for breeding. The fry then migrate back to the ocean. Pulasa fish are rarely found. Vijaya, Director of Fisheries, Visakhapatnam stated that there is a huge demand for these products.
