OTP took the life of a software engineer. Angry that he kicked the car door, the Ola driver threw punches at the techie and brutally killed him. This incident in Chennai came to light late. Umendra, a software employee, works in a company in Coimbatore. On Sunday, he went to his relatives' house in Chennai along with his wife and children. He made it clear that if there are seven people, they should book the SUV. After giving the correct OTP, the cab should be boarded. But when Umendra kicked the cab door while getting down, the driver got angry. He was attacked. He lashed out with punches in the face. The cab driver hit the victim on the forehead with his phone. Eyewitnesses said that Umendra got bleeding from the nose and fell unconscious. The unconscious victim was rushed to the hospital where the doctors confirmed that he had already died. Kelambakkam police identified the cab driver as a man from Salem district. He was arrested and charged with murder.

OTP ఓ సాప్ట్‌వేర్‌ ఇంజినీర్‌ ప్రాణం తీసింది. కారు డోరును తన్నాడన్న కోపంతో ఓలా డ్రైవర్.. టెకీపై పిడిగుద్దులు కురిపించి దారుణంగా హత్య చేశాడు. చెన్నైలో జరిగిన ఈ ఘటన ఆలస్యంగా వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌ ఉద్యోగి ఉమేంద్ర కోయంబత్తూర్‌లోని ఓ సంస్థలో ఉద్యోగం చేస్తున్నాడు. ఆదివారం భార్యాపిల్లలతో కలిసి చెన్నైలోని బంధువుల ఇంటికి వెళ్లాడు. ఆదివారం మధ్యాహ్నం 3:30 గంటల ప్రాంతంలో సినిమా చూసి ఇంటికి వచ్చేందుకు ఓలాలో క్యాబ్ బుక్ చేసుకున్నాడు. నవులూరులోని మాల్ నుంచి బయటకు వచ్చిన తర్వాత క్యాబ్ బుక్ చేసుకున్నారు. కాసేపటికి క్యాబ్ అక్కడికి చేరుకుంది. అయితే సెల్‌ఫోన్‌కు వచ్చే ఓటీపీపై గందరగోళం నెలకొంది. ఉమేంద్రతో పాటు మరో ఆరుగులు కుటుంబ సభ్యులు క్యాబ్‌లో కూర్చోగా.. కిందకు దిగాలని డ్రైవర్ గద్దించాడు. ఏడుగురు వ్యక్తులైతే ఎస్‌యూవీని బుక్ చేసుకోవాలని.. సరైన ఓటీపీ చెప్పిన తర్వాతే క్యాబ్ ఎక్కాలని స్పష్టం చేశాడు. అయితే దిగే క్రమంలో క్యాబ్ డోర్‌ను ఉమేంద్ర తన్నడంతో డ్రైవర్‌కి కోపం వచ్చింది. అతడిపై దాడికి పాల్పడ్డాడు. ముఖంపై పిడిగుద్దులతో విరుచుకుపడ్డాడు. క్యాబ్ డ్రైవర్ తన ఫోన్‌తో బాధితుడి నుదిటిపై కొట్టాడు. ఉమేంద్ర ముక్కు నుంచి రక్తం వచ్చి స్పృహతప్పి పడిపోయాడని ప్రత్యక్ష సాక్షులు తెలిపారు. అపస్మారక స్థితిలోకి వెళ్లిన బాధితుడిని ఆసుపత్రికి తరలించగా అప్పటికే మృతి చెందినట్లు వైద్యులు ధ్రువీకరించారు. క్యాబ్ డ్రైవర్ సేలం జిల్లాకు చెందిన వ్యక్తిగా గుర్తించారు కేలంబాకం పోలీసులు. అతడిని అరెస్టు చేసి హత్యానేరం కింద కేసు పెట్టారు.
