Telangana govt issues pattas for 1300 acres of non-existent land Minister Srinivasa Reddy

HYDERABAD: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy revealed on Sunday that land titles had been mistakenly issued for approximately 1,300 acres of non-existent land in the Tirumalagiri mandal of Nagarjunasagar constituency.
During a meeting with special grade deputy collectors and deputy collectors, the minister explained, "Out of 4,380 acres surveyed, we have identified excess passbooks for 1,300 acres."
He also announced plans to introduce a new Record of Rights (RoR) Act to address the challenges people faced under the previous BRS administration, aiming to bring reforms to the revenue system and restore public confidence.
Srinivasa Reddy further noted that the village revenue officer (VRO) system would be reinstated soon, with a final decision to be made before the implementation of the new RoR Act.
Additionally, the minister promised to promote 17 eligible deputy collectors to IAS ranks and create 33 special grade deputy collector positions. Addressing concerns raised by the Deputy Collectors Association president V. Lachi Reddy, he assured that the issues affecting deputy collectors would be resolved promptly.
